Transport Aboard Wilson EMS

Heavy-transport firm Alexander Global Logistics has delivered an outsized vessel engine from Denmark to a shipyard in Rotterdam.

The breakbulk delivery involved transport of the 104-tonne item from the customers factory in Frederikshavn. Measuring 12 meters in length, the engine was loaded aboard a coaster by two mobile cranes.

“After placing the engine in vessels hold the related LSD works started. Although the trip is quite short – 2.5 days ocean transit only – all the same preparations were needed as usual,” a spokesperson for AGL said.

Headquartered in Bremen in Northern Germany, AGL provides ship chartering services, transhipment, warehousing and distribution as well as full service logistics for heavy-lift and project cargo deliveries. The firm is a member of the member of the Project Logistics Alliance.
