Blue Water Loads Trawler Hulls

Delivery to Norway

Cargo shipping line Blue Water has transported four trawler hulls from Vietnam to Norway.

The outsized units weighed about 500 tonnes each and were loaded using customized cradles. Two diving teams, employed by Blue Water, withstood unfavourable current to hook heavy shackles to the cradles about 3 meters underwater.

“Due to the odd shape of the hulls, together with the elevated deck, we had to design the cradles strong enough, so we could use them for lifting as well. In close cooperation with our client and our carrier, Jumbo Shipping, we succeeded in designing and converting the existing cradles supplied by the yard,” said Subrata Podder, transport engineering manager, Blue Water Singapore.

Blue Water operates 55 offices in more than 26 countries worldwide and is headquartered in Esbjerg on the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in southwest Denmark.
